Artist Statement
In my artistic practice, I examine the relationships between bodies—understood as both living and non-living matter—as well as the forces and influences that emerge in the spaces between them and act upon one another reciprocally. I understand decay not as loss, but as a productive process of transformation from which new forms, meanings, and states arise.
My works are based on self-developed speculative narratives in which, drawing on my research into the course of transformation processes, I speculate on these processes and render them artistically tangible. I do not regard materials merely as means of shaping form, but as autonomous agents that enter into relationships with one another and with their environment, unfolding their own dynamics.
Central to my approach is the principle of “mutual becoming,” which describes a continuous, reciprocal development between bodies, their relationships, and the environment. The focus lies on understanding how matter, environment, and their interconnections are interwoven within an ongoing process of change.
